The math department publishes a rough course overview.
The first midterm will be Thursday, October 2nd. The second will be on Thursday, November 13th. The final will be on Thursday December 18th.
1. Course Policies
Grading. 70% exams (20% for each midterm, 30% for the final), and the remainder is half homework and half quizzes. The lowest quiz grade will be dropped.
Quizzes. There will be a fifteen-minute quiz every Wednesday at the beginning of discussion. We will go over the solutions to the quiz at the following meeting.
E-mail. I will not answer e-mails that ask how to solve particular homework problems which do not give some evidence of your having tried something. The night before an exam, I may have to triage, prioritizing administrative and then quick math clarification questions over everything else.
